We do this as we want to provide better services to our customers while obtaining the best possible value for money when buying from external contractors and suppliers.

Public procurement is subject to the EU Treaty principles of non-discrimination, free movement of goods and freedom to provide services.

The most important of these general principles of law to be aware of in the procurement context are:

  • equality of treatment.
  • transparency.
  • mutual recognition.
  • proportionality.

In keeping with both the EU Treaty principles and the Scottish Governments key priorities of Procurement. Angus Housing Association’s  Procurement processes deliver contracts which are either advertised via Public Contracts Scotland or via a number of national frameworks which include Scottish Procurement national contracts open to all public sector bodies and Scotland Excel the Centre of Procurement Expertise for Scotland’s local government sector and wider public sectors throughout Scotland.
